To overlook love is a common mistake.
We yearn to give but forget to take.
Compassion and kindness we will give,
But without love we have not lived.
Just when I gave up on being happy,
You make my dreams seem a little less sappy.
A subtle comment draws no notice;
All we want is someone to hold us.
Boldly we take that very first move,
Knowing we have so much to lose.
Many nights I felt alone,
Now I wish I was
comforted with your voice on the phone.
Deathly afraid of being hurt,
We jump in with our minds alert.
Sensitive is my aching heart,
Be cautious or it'll fall apart.
Willing to give whatever it takes,
For happiness together I want to make.
Love can go on without end;
What makes it even more passionate
Is I can even call you my friend.
